What to do in an emergency

Need help now? Tap the correct number below to call immediately.

Police

110

For crime, theft, traffic accidents, or immediate police help.

Ambulance / Fire

119

For serious illness or injury, unconsciousness, heavy bleeding, fire, or rescue.

When the call connects, state your location first: address, station exit, building, or shop name.

When you need support in another language

The JNTO Japan Visitor Hotline offers 24-hour support for accidents, illness, disasters, and travel problems in English, Chinese, and Korean. It does not replace 110 or 119.

Find a hospital with English or multilingual support

If 119 is needed, call 119 before looking for a hospital. For non-urgent care, use nationwide NAVII to filter by open now, department, and available language.
